Elizabeth Wengel, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner with a diverse clinical background. Her work spans outpatient psychiatry, PHP/IOP programs, and long-term care and skilled nursing settings, with a strong emphasis on serving vulnerable and underserved populations. In addition to clinical practice, Elizabeth brings experience in teaching, administration, and research, allowing her to approach care with both depth and perspective. Her guiding philosophy is to provide compassionate, patient-centered care and to meet individuals where they are in their journey.
Elizabeth earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Rush University, where she developed a strong foundation in advanced clinical practice and leadership. She went on to complete an additional certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through Purdue University, further solidifying her expertise in mental health care across the lifespan.
Outside of her professional work, Elizabeth enjoys reading and taking road trips—interests that reflect her curiosity, love of learning, and appreciation for exploration. These passions mirror the thoughtful, open-minded approach she brings to both her personal life and her work with patients.
